Vivo has announced Y95, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the ‘Y Series’. It comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ waterdrop notch display with 19:9 aspect ratio and 88.6% screen-to-body ratio. It features unibody gradiant design. It is powered by Snapdragon 439 12nm SoC chipset with 4GB of RAM.

Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal steps down as CEO

Yesterday, Binny Bansal steped down as CEO of Flipkart Group with immediate effect. He has been an important part of Flipkart since co-founding the company.

Going forward, Kalyan Krishnamurthy will continue to be CEO of Flipkart, which will now include Myntra and Jabong, continuing to operate as separate platforms within the Flipkart business. Ananth Narayanan will continue providing leadership as CEO of Myntra and Jabong, and will report into Kalyan. Sameer Nigam will continue leading PhonePe as CEO. Both Kalyan and Sameer will report directly into the board.

Lenovo has announced the Z5 Pro, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the ‘Z series’ in China. It comes with slider design that hides the 16MP front camera, earpiece and the 8MP IR face unlock. The company says that the sliding mechanism has been tested to last 300,000 times.

It has 6.39-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 2.07mm ultra narrow bezels and 95.06% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by Snapdragon 710 chipset with 6GB of RAM. It runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with ZUI 10 on the top.

Huawei’s Honor brand announced the Honor Magic 2, its latest high-end smartphone. It comes with an anti-dust slider design. It has a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED 19.5:9 display with 108% DCI-P3 Color Gamut. It is powered by Kirin 980 7nm SoC with Dual NPU with upto 8GB of RAM. It has dual SIM support and Huawei’s Hi1103 chip for 1.7Gbps Wi-Fi and dual-frequency GPS navigation.

It run on Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.0 on the top along with YOYO assistant. It has a 16MP rear camera, 24MP monochrome secondary sensor and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens. OnePlus 6T announced with 6.41-inch FHD+ display, 8GB RAM, in-display fingerprint sensor

OnePlus just announced its flagship OnePlus 6T smartphone at an event in New York. It comes with a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with a tiny notch. It has about 86% screen-to-body ratio and has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 845 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM, same as the OnePlus 6. The base version of the 6T now comes with 128GB storage, instead of 64GB in OnPlus 6.

It has a 16MP rear camera with Sony IMX519 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, OIS as well as EIS along with a 20MP secondary camera with Sony IMX376K sensor and f/1.7 aperture. It also has a 16MP Sony IMX 371 front camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size. The rear camera comes with Nightscape mode that can recognize night scenes and delivers brighter, more vivid images with more clarity and less noise. The OnePlus 6 users will get this feature via software update soon.

It runs on OxygenOS 9.0based on Android 9.0 (Pie) with support for Android’s full screen gestures. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor, which it calls ‘Screen Unlock’. According to the company the in-display fingerprint sensor can unlock the phone in 0.34 seconds. It also has face unlock feature that can unlock the phone in 0.4 seconds.

It will roll out in the US via T-Mobile from November 1st and in Europe from 6th.

We should know the price for India when it is launched tomorrow. As we already know, it will go on sale in India exclsuively on Amazon.in from November 1st.

Lenovo Z5 Pro with full-screen display, and slider design to be announced on November 1

Lenovo is all set to introduce the Z5 Pro smartphone in China. The company official has announced that the phone will be introduced on November 1st, along with a teaser of the smartphone. He also confirmed that the Z5 Pro will be the first Lenovo smartphone to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The teaser reveals a slider design, which is the latest trend in smartphones. The design reduces the bezels and offers high screen-to-body ratio. The slider has an earpice with front cameras on either side of it.

It will also come with dual rear cameras with AI features. We still don’t have any other specifications, but we should get the image and specifications when the phone will be certified by TENAA in few days.

We will know all the details when the phone goes official next Thusrday.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Gaming smartphone to be announced on October 23

Xiaomi’s Black Shark has announced that the Black Shark 2 smartphone will go official on October 23rd. The phone already got certified by TENAA with model number AWM-A0. The listing revealed a veritical arranged dual rear camera and a rear fingerprint sensor. It also revealed RGB logo on the back.

There is a large speaker grill on the front. Geekbench listing revealed Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB of RAM and Android 8.1 (Oreo). TENAA listing revealed a 5.99-inch display, so the company could retain the FHD+ display and it has a 4000mAh battery, same as the predecessor.

It will likely retain the liquid cooling tech, Dual Speakers and Gamepad support. We should know all the details when the phone goes official next week.
