Motorola confirms Android 9.0 Pie update for range of smartphones

On August 7th, Android released its latest version dubbed Android 9 Pie. As of now, only the Essential Phone has got the Android 9.0 Pie Apart from the Pixels. Google also said that it is working with several OEMs to roll out the update.

Now Motorola has confirmed Pie update for its smartphones, including the Moto X4 that was introduced running on Android 7.1 (Nougat). The latest Moto Z3 series, Z2 series and the Moto G6 series are getting the update. The Moto Z, G5 and G5S series are not getting the update including this year’s Moto E5 series.

Android Pie will be served up on the below Motorola smartphones starting this fall:

  • Moto Z3
  • Moto Z3 play
  • Moto Z2 force edition
  • Moto Z2 play
  • Moto X4
  • Moto G6 plus
  • Moto G6
  • Moto G6 play

The Android 9.0 Pie update will start rolling out from the fall 2018, begins next month. Its flagship Moto Z3 should get the update first.
